2025 Airshow partners with Joshua House to ‘Launch Hope’ and raise $100,000

June 21, 2025

This August, the sky won’t be the only place where transformation takes flight. During the Abbotsford International Airshow (August 8–10), Joshua House Recovery Ministries will be launching something extraordinary: a community-powered campaign to raise $100,000 to support men in addiction recovery across the Fraser Valley.

Through its new “Launch Hope” initiative, Joshua House will deploy more than 70 volunteers to support Airshow operations—handling waste collection, teardown, and other essential tasks. In return, the Airshow will promote the campaign with on-site signage, daily announcements, social media features, and a full-page spotlight in the official program.

Joshua House has supported thousands of men over the past 20 years through its 3–6 month recovery programs based in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, offering stability, structure, and the tools to re-enter life with purpose. “Our volunteers aren’t just picking up litter—they’re helping lift lives,” says Jim Heuving,
Executive Director of Joshua House. “This partnership helps us build dignity and momentum for men charting a new course in life.”

“The Abbotsford Airshow has always been about more than aviation—it’s about community,” says Dave Reith, Executive Director of the Abbotsford Airshow. “Partnering with Joshua House allows us to showcase the power of hope and transformation right here on the ground. We’re proud to stand with them in this
important mission.”

Joining the Launch Hope Crew isn’t just a good deed—it’s a front-row pass to one of BC’s biggest summer events. Volunteers get free Airshow admission, an exclusive Souviner Airshow Volunteer T-shirt, and meals and refreshments to keep them fueled through the day. Add in free parking, easy shuttles, and the chance to be part of the behind-the-scenes action, and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind experience that’s as rewarding as it is memorable. You’ll serve with purpose, make a visible impact, and walk away knowing you helped launch real hope into the lives of men who need it most.

Joshua House is currently recruiting volunteers for both the Airshow weekend and pre/post event support. Supporters can also give directly by scanning QR codes at the event or visiting joshuahouse.ca/launchhope.
