Volunteering at the Airshow
The Abbotsford Airshow is made possible through the support, dedication and participation of our many volunteers. We’d love to have you join our team and share the excitement!
What’s in it for you?
- Specific training as required – learn new skills!
- Lunch & beverages are always provided
- A great experience as an ambassador for Canada’s National Airshow
- Gain volunteer/community service hours for student programs
Volunteer Areas
Guest Services – Guest Services is one of the largest volunteer areas at the Airshow. We have numerous opportunities to host or serve in our Airshow venues. ServingItRight and/or FoodSafe certifications are an asset. Some serving areas require volunteers to be 19 years or older.
Onsite Operations – These positions help support the show’s facilities and logistics and include a variety of tasks. Trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing and construction are an asset.
Parking & Traffic – One of the most important volunteer jobs at the Airshow is to help our guests get in and out of the site efficiently and safely. This volunteer team works hard, but has a great time being the first people to welcome our guests to the Airshow.
Patron Safety – Patron Safety volunteers operate alongside local police and security personnel to keep our guests safe. This includes a variety of duties and areas across the event grounds. Volunteers for this crew must be 18 years or older.
Setup & Takedown – Much of the most critical work to make the Airshow possible happens long before planes take to the sky. From June through end of August, significant preparations are made to ready the Airport for the Airshow and then restore it to normal again afterwards.
