Abbotsford International Airshow Society names Stacey Irwin Board Chair

ABBOTSFORD, BC – The Abbotsford International Airshow Society has named Stacey Irwin its new Chair of the Board of Directors. Irwin succeeds outgoing Board Chair Steve Stewart and becomes the first female Chair in the Airshow Society’s 60-year history.
Stacey Irwin is a senior executive at Prospera Credit Union, based here in Abbotsford. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of the Fraser Valley and is a designated Project Management Professional. Irwin is heavily involved in the local community, having previously served as President of the Rotary Club of Abbotsford, Vice-Chair of the UFV Board of Governors and Chair of the UFV Alumni Association.
A long-time Airshow volunteer, Stacey Irwin has been a Board Member of the Airshow Society since 2015, most recently serving as its Vice-Chair. Her wealth of leadership and board experience has been instrumental in leading the Airshow Society’s efforts to update its governance structure and policies. Her love for aviation and desire to give back to the community continue to drive her passion for the Airshow.
Irwin will take over leadership of the Airshow’s Board of Directors as the event prepares to celebrate its historic 60th year. The Abbotsford Airshow was first held in 1962 before growing rapidly in size and being designated as “Canada’s National Airshow” in 1970.
