GearBots 2021 Summer STEM Camps

Camp Four
Theme:  Introduction to Coding / Robotics
Description: In this introductory course, students will learn about the engineering field of  Mechatronics.  Students will use a number of web-based platforms for coding a virtual robotic device.  This course will also cover key concepts related to computational thinking.
Course Dates: July 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 for 15 hours of STEM fun!
Day and Time: Virtual camp runs Monday to Friday from 1pm to 4pm.
Ages: 8+
Instructor: Mr. Dereck Dirom
Required equipment: Students will need access to a computer with a microphone and web camera, a Gmail account they know how to access for our google classroom, and Zoom installed on the computer.  In addition, students will need to have their own TinkerCAD account – visit https://www.tinkercad.com/join to create their own “personal” account prior to the camp starting.
In partnership with Cascade Aerospace, the Abbotsford Airshow, and UFV.

Description:

Requirement: You must have a laptop or desktop running Windows OS or Mac OS.  We will be using Zoom for the duration of the camp.  Check to make sure you have the required software loaded onto your computer prior to the start of the camp.  Note: Our Kerbal camps require that you have purchased the software directly from their site.
