Camp Three: Jr. Flight School – Introduction to Aerospace
– Summer STEM Camp 2026
Theme: Introduction to the “Physics of Flight” – Digital Design – Fabrication
Prerequisite: None
Description: In this introductory half-day hands-on STEM camp, students will learn all about the exciting science behind how airplanes fly. In addition to learning about the physics of flight, students will also create several paper airplanes and foamboard gliders to help demonstrate the science concepts. Participants will learn to design digital files for the 3D printer and laser cutter. The camp is full of unique extras that will make for a fantastic STEM learning opportunity. Snacks are not provided – students must bring their nut-free snacks and water. For participants who took the camp last year, we recommend that you sign up for our of our other camps.
Unique Features:
- Introduction to the physics of flight – ground school concepts
- Lots of hands-on STEM learning
- Design and make a foam board glider to take home at the end of the camp
- Practice flying on a flight simulator
- All materials for the camp are covered in the camp fee
Special Offer: Participants in this camp will receive one adult and one child general admission (walk-in tickets) for the 2026 Abbotsford International Airshow weekend. Tickets are valid for Sunday, August 9, 2026, and include one vehicle parking pass.
In addition, each participant will have the opportunity to take part in the “Special Experience” event on Thursday, August 6, 2026, ahead of the airshow’s official start on Friday. Full details will be announced on or before Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

West of Airport: Drive south on Mt. Lehman Rd – turn left on Threshold Dr – travel east on the north side of the airport. Follow the road east. Go past Queens St and follow the access road until you see the Abbotsford Airshow Compound. There will be signage after you pass Queens St. Ignore any “Restricted Area” signs – these are old and no longer being enforced.
North of Airport: Drive south on Queens St. Turn left on Threshold Dr and follow the access road until you see the Abbotsford Airshow Compound. There will be signage once you turn onto Threshold Dr and go east. Ignore any “Restricted Area” signs – these are old and no longer being enforced.
